GambleAware Week 2022
Responsible Wagering Australia (RWA) and its members once again support GambleAware Week (17 – 23 Oct) a partnership between industry, community groups, sporting clubs and the NSW Government’s Office of Responsible Gambling.
“RWA is pleased to support GambleAware Week year on year as part of our long-standing commitment to responsible gambling and consumer protection. Being gamble aware is all about making informed decisions and knowing the proactive responsibility tools available online,” said Justin Madden Chief Executive Officer Responsible Wagering Australia.
“Only a very small percentage of Australians suffer from problem gambling, and we know that unlike other types of gambling such as pokies or retail betting, online wagering does not have the same inherent link to the development of problem gambling.”
“RWA members employ specialist trained staff who use real time data insights, online behavioral analytics and early intervention systems to help detect potential red flag behavior and intervene or close down accounts where necessary.”
“Consumers betting via licensed providers also have access to a range of tools and resources in order to make the right choices for them. With the help of technology and data-driven insights there are now many solutions to balance freedom of choice and entertainment, with responsibility.”
“RWA commends the NSW Government for holding this important initiative once again in 2022,” said Mr Madden.
