RWA supports National Jockey’s Trust
MEDIA RELEASE: Responsible Wagering Australia has been delighted to support the National Jockey’s Trust with a $50,000 donation this week.
“Being a jockey is one of the most dangerous professions in sport. Every day jockeys go to work, they put their lives at risk. As a key participant in racing, every time jockeys go to work and put their bodies and lives at risk, they are contributing to the joy millions of Australians get from racing as well as the livelihoods of countless other industry participants,” said Stephen Conroy Executive Director Responsible Wagering Australia.
“Racing has never been safer for all participants than it is today. Nevertheless, there is still huge risk for jockeys and when the horrible happens it is the National Jockey’s Trust there supporting jockeys and their families.
“In recognition of the sacrifices made by jockeys, RWA has made a $50,000 donation to the National Jockey’s Trust to support the vital work they do looking after jockeys and their families in the toughest of circumstances,” said Mr Conroy.
