Responsible Wagering Australia, the peak body representing Australia’s major corporate bookmakers is proud to again support GambleAware Week in 2021.

This week is an opportunity to increase the community’s understanding of responsible gambling and provide information on practical ways to keep their gambling under control, and if required, direct people to GambleAware support services.

Australia has one of the most comprehensive regulatory and consumer protection frameworks for wagering of anywhere in the world.

Only a very small percentage of Australians suffer from problem gambling and we know that unlike other types of gambling such as pokies or betting in a retail TAB, online wagering does not have the same inherent link to the development of problem gambling.

RWA is committed to online wagering remaining one of the most responsible ways to gamble, and RWA members offer the best and most effective consumer protection tools available, including mandatory age and identity verification, binding deposit limits, time out tools, activity statements and Self-Exclusion.

RWA welcomes the theme of this year’s GambleAware Week ‘Let’s Talk Gambling’ and encourages all Australians to join us in supporting this worthwhile initiative.
